The theme of the conference picks up an international outcome of recent studies, publications and concerns about the ongoing threats to physical activities for children and youth within their living settings, particularly at school and in the community. To counteract these secular trends of physical inactivity with increased  overweight and sedentary lifestyle habits, new concepts of health enhanced physical education and new partnerships with sport clubs and community departments of education, health, sport and social affairs are  needed in the future. The theme of the Global Forum “Revitalizing health and physical education through community based networking” will address these needs and proposes the spirit of local partnership models.
